The Moors manager gives us the latest ahead of Saturday's encounter

Tim Flowers on last season’s crucial victory at Hartlepool and welcoming them in better form this time around…

“We were on quite a good run at the time and it’s always a very tough trip up there. Hartlepool were beginning to float down with us so it was a chance for us to suck them into a dogfight at little bit.

“We managed to win late and I think it was Adi Yussuf who scored around the 90th minute. Then we had another, not for the first time at this football club, shed load of time added on at the end.

“We found ourselves hanging on at the end – they might’ve even hit the bar and Liam Daly got sent off.

“It was a massive three points for us.

“We welcome them to our ground this season in far better form. They’ve had a real good start to the season, steady.

“They were taken over last season so they managed to recruit and have brought some good players in. The likes of Noble and one or two that have come in look to have really firmed them up as a squad.

“They're a good side, so it'll be a tough test.”

Tim Flowers on reshuffling his team with Jamie Reckord suspended…

“We’ve had a little look at what we’re going to do. It was rash what Jamie did, he knows that – we’ve had a quick conversation.

“He’s a fairly experienced lad and it cost us a chance of a result down there. We’ll miss him, he’s a good player so we will have to rejig it a little bit.”

Tim Flowers on home form and the overall start to the season…

“We’re strong at home, we’re in good form at home. We’ve lost once at this place since last November so our record’s good.

“We’ve had a good, solid start to the season ourselves and we’ve played a lot of the bigger hitters, if you like - we’ve played some really good sides.

“The lads can be pleased with the return that they’ve given the club and we want to maintain that, so we want to push on and get to that 50-point mark sooner rather than later.”

Tim Flowers on replicating the performance at Leyton Orient, but adding goals to match…

“If you can, you can’t always play that way. It’s very rare that you play that well and not win. If we’d have converted our chances, we would’ve been two or three nil up before Orient scored in the 50th minute of the first half after three minutes had gone up on the clock.

“It was disappointing to go in 1-0 down when we’d created so many guild-edges chances and, anyway, you have to take them.

“Even in the second half when we’re down to 10 men, we looked the most likely. We forced Dean Brill into another great save in the second half and had one or two other opportunities.

“Orient got two late on which flattered them a little bit and our lads didn’t deserve to get beat 3-0. Football’s like that.

“We went to Barrow on the Saturday, won and got away with it.

“If we can perform like that and create as many chances and convert them, then we’re going to be a tough team to play against.

“We’ve won 1-0 three times here and they’ve been nip and tuck games, although we’ve been the better side – I’ll take a 1-0 all day!”

Tim Flowers on injuries…

“Ozzy (Jamey Osborne) will be fine I think. He took two kicks to the top of his foot in quick succession at Barrow and was feeling quite sore so we had to bring him off.

“He was struggling to start against Orient. The plan was to use him off the bench later on and just look after him a little bit.

“He does get targeted. He’s a skilful player who can go by people and he does take a lot of tough treatment – he gets whacked on a weekly basis.

“He’s a very talent boy. He looked fine this morning in training.

“Kwame (Thomas) had a brain scan last Monday for a final consultation – he was given the ok. We slipped Kwame onto the bench at Orient as an unused sub.

“He’s now available for selection which it great because it gives me some artillery whether it’s starting or off the bench.

“He’s a big, physical presence so it’s great to have him back.

“Other than that, I think we’re pretty much a clean bill of health – touch wood. There’s another day to go so hopefully everybody comes through that ok and I’ll have a full squad to pick from other than Jamie.”
