Last season the Club ran, through its Academy, five teams - next year this will rise to eight in partnership with CTC Kingshurst Academy and Solihull College

The Moors Academy will introduce a new Under 21 side which will take its place in Division 2 of the Midland Football league. It will comprise academy players between the ages of 18 and 21 and will play its home matches at Boldmere St Michaels Trevor Brown Memorial Ground, on the new state of the art, 3G pitch

Moors will also enter a team in the MFL Reserves League which will play at the Tally Ho complex in Edgbaston, along with the Floodlit League side. The remaining 5 sides in the various College Leagues will play at both the CTC Academy and Solihull College

The first team has been using the all-weather facilities at Boldmere throughout last season for training and the new arrangements for the Academy Under 21’s will strengthen what have already become strong ties between the two clubs.

The “Mikes” have been in existence since 1883 and their ground currently has a capacity of 2,500, of which 230 is seated and 400 covered. Their first team plays in the Premier Division of the Total Motion Midland League.

The construction of the 3G pitches started in May 2016 and the first senior match was played on them in November of that year. The project also included the installation of two floodlit 5-a-side courts next to The Mikes Bowling Green.

Moors’ Sporting Director , Mark Fogarty , commented;

“This fantastic new partnership with Boldmere will allow our players to continue their development and be able to play the type of football that we believe in due to the superb facilities and surface "

Ordinarily we lose our best young players at 18 but we now have the opportunity to watch them blossom over a further 3 years.

The partnership with Boldmere will further cement the relationship between the 2 clubs and I'm sure both will prosper because of the relationship.”

Boldmere Chairman Robert Mallaband is equally pleased ;

“Boldmere have gone through a transformation programme that started off the field with our new facilities and we have now expanded our feeder system with more than 30 teams next season. Boldmere share a similar vision to Moors and we feel the partnership will serve both clubs equally. We are privileged to open up our ground to a premier club and we look forward to seeing the youth develop through our joint initiative”

A Moors X1 will play Boldmere in a pre season friendly on Wednesday 11th July at their St Michaels Trevor Brown Memorial Ground . Kick Off is at 7.30 pm.
