Solihull Moors are now well into the second week of pre-season training and it hasn't been easy, with the high temperatures adding to the already demanding nature of pre-season.

With Saturday's first friendly test at Banbury United just around the corner, we caught up with Moors boss Neal Ardley.

Within the chat, the manager covers a variety of topics including what his pre-season sessions entail, words on recent arrivals Harry Boyes and Matt Preston, and a key fitness update on the long-term injuries.

There's hugely positive news on Callum Howe, who missed the majority of last season through a knee injury. The defender has taken full part in all pre-season sessions to date and is looking strong, although he will be monitored closely throughout.

Alex Gudger and Jamey Osborne are both back out running on the grass and are required to complete their final stages of rehab before they can join in with the sessions.

Unfortunately, James Ball has a couple of injuries which have been treated or are pencilled in to be - a hernia operation (into 4 weeks recovery) and a toe injection (4-6 weeks recovery). Ardley has confirmed that Ball will need at least five weeks before he's back out on the training pitch.
