The Solihull community has once again rallied together to support another initiative led by the Solihull Moors Foundation.

As most of us come together to safely celebrate this year’s Easter weekend, others are less fortunate and the Foundation wanted to help.

The aim was to accumulate as many Easters eggs as possible and donate them to two chosen causes close to the hearts of all of us at the Moors.

The response was phenomenal, and we are delighted to have been able to donate over 500 Easter eggs to the children’s ward at Solihull Hospital and the Helping Hands foodbank at Renewal Solihull.

When we say the Solihull community had rallied together, we meant it.

Special thanks go to two local businesses in Your Local PC Doctor and In The Dog House Solihull for their well-received donations.

Meanwhile, our Youth and Junior section came up trumps. Led by Ant and Claire Hasker, a van full of Easter eggs were delivered to the club and they came from a variety of sources – both within the club and outside of it.

Then it was up to the Solihull Moors first team squad to play their part. Foundation trustee Adam Rooney was tasked with collecting 100 Easter eggs as a donation from the players and he didn’t disappoint.

An incredible show of support from club staff rounded off a real team effort and the grand total of 550 eggs was more than double the original target of 200!

A huge thank you to everyone who donated to the cause. Your kindness has enabled the Foundation to ensure those in our community won’t go without this Easter.

Becci Fox, CEO of the Solihull Moors Foundation, said: “I am truly overwhelmed by the generosity and support that has been shown by all who took part in the Easter egg collection.

“It just shows what can be achieved when the community comes together to support the local community and charities.

“We are extremely grateful that we have been able to support two causes that are close to both the club and foundation.”
