Solihull Moors extended their unbeaten run to 15 games in the Vanarama National League after defeating Barnet at the Hive.

Goals in each half were enough to complete the job for the promotion chasers who remain in fourth.

Andrew Dallas opened the scoring after just seven minutes, before Ben Richards-Everton headed into his own net five minutes from time.

Team News

Manager Neal Ardley made three changes to the side that drew 0-0 at FC Halifax Town on Tuesday evening.

Harry Boyes was unavailable through illness so in stepped Jordan Cranston in a like-for-like switch at left-back.

Elsewhere, Kyle Storer and Callum Reilly came in for Jamey Osborne and Joe Sbarra – Reilly was making his first start for the club since joining on loan from Leyton Orient.

The Match

The Moors were rapidly out of the traps and got their reward seven minutes into the action. Ryan Barnett’s strike was fumbled by Jake Askew and straight into the path of Dallas who was alert to slot home.

Ross Marshall tried his best to level for the home side after 23 minutes, but he could only glance a header wide from a Rob Hall delivery.

And Moors came knocking for a second when Barnett and Danny Newton combined on two separate occasions.

The latter headed a Barnett cross into the gloves of Askew, before again meeting a delivery from the winger but, this time, saw it drop onto the roof of the net.

James Clarke caught a sweet volley from the edge of the box and was unfortunate to see his effort dip just wide of the mark.

The Bees thought they had equalised when Hall slotted Ephron Mason-Clark through, but the forward was denied by the flag after finding the net past Ryan Boot.

Half-time: Barnet 0-1 Solihull Moors

Shortly after the break, the Moors had some defending to do, and they did so manfully - Lois Maynard looked to be the man in the way to block a Richards-Everton goal-bound header.

There was little goalmouth action until the final 15 minutes, as Dean Brennan’s side were still in the game at 1-0.

They had a spell of possession on the 75-minute mark and, following some good work from Hall down the right, Adam Marriott nodded just over the top of the bar.

However, Moors made the points safe with five minutes left to play and Barnett was once again involved. He jinked his way inside and delivered a ball into the box with his left boot – Bees defender Richards-Everton attacked it, but could only divert into his own net.

Maynard almost added a third in stoppage time, but his glancing header was pushed away by Askew and 2-0 was how it finished.

Full-time: Barnet 0-2 Solihull Moors
