Moors are pleased to announce that goalkeeper Tom Allsopp has signed his first professional contract with the club.

The 19-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a one-year deal, with the option of a further year in the club’s favour.

Allsopp is the latest to graduate from Moors’ Football and Education programme and follows the footsteps of Melis Bushaj who turned pro this time last year.

There has been no shortage of first team involvement for Allsopp - the stopper has caught the eye in training and relished his inclusion in the matchday warm-up.

He was handed a squad number earlier this year and Allsopp is delighted to see his hard work pay off with the reward of a first team contract.

He said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be honest. I’ve loved being around the first team and training with the goalkeepers, it’s been such a good experience and long may it continue.

“Kevin Poole has brought me on tenfold from where I was at the start of the year to now. He’s done so much work with me and I’m really grateful for it.

“There’s always an opportunity. If you work hard on the education, there’s always a pathway and an opportunity to prove how good you are on the football pitch.

“My main goal is to keep improving and I’ve got the tools here to do just that – I’m thoroughly excited for the season.”
