Danny Wright Signs for Moors
Experienced Ex Cheltenham Striker joins Solihull
PUBLISHED: 1st Jul 18

Danny has played nine seasons in the National League in service of seven clubs, totalling over 100 goals across more than 300 games.

He began his career at Dereham Town before transferring to Histon, where he helped them win the Conference South title in 2006–07.

In 2010, he moved Cambridge United, on a three-year deal. He spent one season there, being the top scorer in a struggling team, before leaving for Wrexham with whom he won the FA Trophy against Grimsby in 2013 .

That was followed by a year at Forest Green, before 5 months at both Gateshead and Kidderminster.

Danny signed a one-year deal at Cheltenham Town in June 2015, his new manager Gary Johnson saying that he was the "target man" needed at the club. Cheltenham were promoted to the Football league at the end of Danny’s first year with the “robins” when he was Supporters Player of the Season.

In the 2016–17 season, he made his Football League debut at the age of 31 against Leyton Orient on 6 August.

In his time with Cheltenham Town Danny scored 34 goals in 117 appearances.
