Captain's Log - Thoughts of Captain "Carts"
We have no points target, just to go into each game wanting to win!

Captainís Log

ĎWe are extremely focused on the task still at hand and continuing our push up the tableí.

Moors skipper Darren Carter reveals in the latest Captainís Log that the teamís mean defensive record is down to hard work on training ground drills, how they are taking each game as it comes, and his successful switch to veganism.

As we head into the final stretch of the season we have put ourselves in a position to pounce on those teams just above us.

The form table shows we are on a fine run and this is what has enabled us to be within striking distance. We cannot afford any room for error now, thatís why we are extremely focused on the task still at hand and continuing our push up the table!

One of the key reasons for our recent form has been our ability to keep the ball out of our net. Only five goals conceded in this calendar year proves that point. Credit to the gaffer and Tim in particular who sets us up and assigns us our jobs and roles within our shape. Everybody understands what is expected from them and together we go out there and execute it as a team. Any player will tell you itís not always the most enjoyable part of training going through defensive duties and set pieces but it is an essential part of the game and can be the difference between winning and losing. Tim and the gaffer get their message across clearly and with a real passion leaving you wanting to buy into what they want.

With all this in mind we have 12 games to go out there and put all this into action. We have no points target, just to go into each game wanting to win, and if we show the same commitment and togetherness thatís served us so well in the last few months then we will push up the table and to safety.

We head down south to face Sutton on Saturday knowing we face a huge challenge against a team who are flying high in the league table. Playing on an artificial surface is always a different experience but we have prepared right and have had plenty of training time on this surface so we will be raring to go.

Tuesday night sees a very long trip to the other end of the country and the rearranged game against Gateshead. We will certainly have motorway mileage in the bank but we would also like a nice points tally from both games to make the trips worthwhile!

As always, we are in this together and for us to continue our mission to safety it will take us all to stay together as one for the remaining 12 games. Your support is crucial and will get us over the line.

Away from footy, the update from me is that my switch to veganism has been a very successful one. I feel I have taken to the change in lifestyle and diet seamlessly. I would encourage everyone to at least read up on it and do some research into it and see if itís a fit for you. That is one thing I did thoroughly before making this change and I can only speak from my experience but it has had a very positive effect on my life!

I would also like to take this opportunity to wish all the moms out there a very happy Motherís Day! My mom has been an ever present this season at all our home games and has made a few trips to our away fixtures too. Iíll repay her support hopefully with some positive results at Sutton and Gateshead. If sheís lucky I may even cook for her as well!

Carts.
