Jermaine Hylton couldn’t hide his joy after scoring twice in the 3-0 victory over Woking FC. The Moors number 10 put in a man-of-the-match display at The Automated Technology Group Stadium and was pleased with the response after last Saturday’s FA Trophy exit.

Hylton said: “I’m buzzing, especially when the points are so important. We need every single point we can get so to do it with that kind of performance from the boys especially after tough loss at Spennymoor, we really needed it.

The Solihull Moors forward was given the role of central striker by manager Mark Yates – a position that he felt he thrived in.

“I really needed those two (goals)! It’s great for the confidence obviously. I was in a more central position today which I feel a bit more comfortable in, so I just enjoyed myself and the goals came.

“For sure, it suits me a bit more because I can run in behind a bit more and just concentrate on trying to create and score as many chances as possible.”

The team are now unbeaten in four league games and have kept back-to-back clean sheets. Hylton was keen to point out the role played by the whole of the team and is feeling positive about the future.

“The defence were unbelievable. Not just the back four, but the midfield as well – they were all unbelievable. Max (O’Leary) in goal pulled off a couple of great saves.

“The team really pulled together. I’ve got that good feeling now, things are starting to fall in place for us.

“We’re just buzzing for every game now. We’ve got a confidence and a style about us and we’re just looking forward to every game, looking forward to getting out of this relegation zone.”
