Kyle Storer joins Solihull Moors
*The former Cheltenham Town skipper arrives at The Moors*
PUBLISHED: 9th Jan 18

Solihull Moors are delighted to confirm the signing of central midfielder Kyle Storer on a permanent deal following his release from Cheltenham Town.

The 30-year-old arrives at The Automated Technology Group Stadium with plenty of experience having enjoyed time in the Football League and the Vanarama National League – he reached the landmark of 500 senior appearances in October 2017.

Storer began his career with local side Bedworth United before joining Tamworth in July 2004. He racked up 27 appearances in his first season at The Lamb, where he stayed before joining Nuneaton Town in February 2009 after spells with Hinckley United and Atherstone Town.

After featuring over 100 times and playing an integral part in two promotions for Boro, Storer made the step to play full-time football with Kidderminster Harriers in July 2011 as a 24-year-old.

His time with Kiddy was a fruitful one as he played more than 140 times as club captain over the course of three-and-a-half seasons. Storer netted on 13 occasions in the league and helped the Harriers to a second place finish in the 2012/13 season where they narrowly missed out on a place in League Two, losing in the play-off semi-final to Wrexham.

And the Racecourse Ground was to be the next destination for Storer. He signed for Wrexham in January 2015, penning a deal with the Welsh club until the end of that current season. In that time, he played 13 times and scored one goal as the Dragons finished 11th in the Conference.

Storer had been donning the Cheltenham Town shirt as skipper for the last two-and-a-half years after arriving at Whaddon Road in July 2015. He fulfilled one of his career ambitions with the Robins, as they won the National League title in 2015/16 and promotion to the Football League.

He went on to play 101 times and scored four goals under Gary Johnson as Cheltenham finished 21st in Storer’s first season in League Two. He left the club in 14th place having made 27 appearances in all competitions so far this season.

The midfielder now becomes part of Mark Yates’ squad as the club bid to retain their National League status for the second season running.

Storer will wear the number 8 shirt for The Moors. Welcome to the club, Kyle!
