The George Best Community Cup 2018
*Moors' open age disability team to fly over to Northern Ireland*
PUBLISHED: 7th Dec 17

Solihull Moors are taking their Open Age Disability Players to the George Best Community Cup in June 2018.

The George Best Community Cup is an annual five-a-side cup competition for clubs catering for players with a disability. It is run by the Irish Football Association and supported by the George Best Foundation and Cash for Kids through the Mary Peters Trust.

Last year, more than 500 players from 70 disability football clubs throughout the UK and Ireland descended on the Billy Neill complex in Dundonald to compete in the annual tournament.

Wrexham FC won the Ability Level 4 trophy at the tournament whilst Ability 2 was won by newly formed Llandudno, although they did require penalties to see off the challenge of National League Sutton United. Football League clubs Bradford City and Charlton Athletic have also been represented.

Moors are fund raising to try and cover their teamís flight and accommodation costs. This will be the first time a lot of these players have been outside England and it will be a brilliant experience for them.
