Sean St Ledger reflects on Wycombe Wanderers defeat
*'If we can do what we did in the second-half and do that for 90 minutes, then we won’t be far away' - by Luke Turner*
PUBLISHED: 6th Nov 17

Solihull Moors defender Sean St Ledger remained upbeat after making his debut for the club in the 2-0 defeat to Wycombe Wanderers.

He said: “It would’ve felt a lot better if we won but there are positives to take. The second-half was a lot better and if one of those chances goes in, it’s 2-1.

“With the backing of the support, which was fantastic today, then it could’ve gone either way. But we’ve come up against a good side, I’ve watched them this season and always knew it was going to be a tough game and they probably deserved it in the end.”

St Ledger was named Man of the Match on the club’s Twitter poll, but admitted that it took him a while to get going in what was his first match for over a year.

“From a personal point of view, it took me a little while to get used to my surroundings. In the second-half I felt better but it was always going to be difficult.

“If you look at their goals, they were maybe avoidable. The second one was a set piece and they’ve hit the crossbar twice and it’s fallen fortunately to their man.

“The first one was like a ricochet so not great goals to concede. Hopefully next week we can try and cut that out.”

Attentions now turn back to the Vanarama National League with St Ledger eager to help the club move up the division.

“I’m looking forward to it. Today was an added bonus, the lads have done great to get to the first round and now we need to kick on.

“The league’s the most important thing and we need to try and keep this football club in the league – it starts on Saturday.

“If we can do what we did in the second-half and do that for 90 minutes, then we won’t be far away.”
