Liam McDonald Looks towards Tomorrow’s Game at home to Macclesfield
We have work to do and must remain Focused.

It will be good to play Macclesfield tomorrow – they play good entertaining football and it will be a tough but exciting game.

We have watched the video of their match last weekend at home to Woking, and although they lost 1 – 3 they will be disappointed not to have got something out of the game. Interestingly we play Woking away next Tuesday evening.

I think you all know how happy I was with Saturday’s performance and with none of the injured players ready for their come back, it will be much the same squad this weekend

Of course we are now without Zain Westbrooke for three games following his red card dismissal in the Chester game and he will be missed – he played his part in our first home win and brought something extra to the attacking mid field.

Zain was bitterly disappointed with what happened but having apologised to me after the match he was so enthusiastic about the team’s win – that for me is entirely the right attitude and shows that he has settled in well and is certainly putting the team first.

As I said in my last notes we are still lacking just a little bit of quality and I am reviewing the loan market to find players who can help whilst we wait for the injured to come back. In particular there is a Championship midfielder to whom I have spoken and just a chance he could be with us tomorrow.

I still think the missing players will be back within a month and that means we cannot spend too much time enjoying last weeks victory – we have work to do and must remain focused.

That said the Chester result will be good for our confidence in a match where we stuck to our team set up and the back four were solid throughout. There were some great moves quickly from defence

I thought Liam and Joel were superb and both Kristian and Jordan were there to provide cover whenever the need arose. As a result Chester had quite a lot of possession but not in the final third.

We all loved the atmosphere created by the home fans last Saturday – get behind the lads like that tomorrow and you will be our twelfth man again!
