Oladapo Afolayan delighted with win over Chester

After scoring the goals that earnt Solihull Moors victory over Chester last night, Oladapo Afolayan expressed his delight at clinching that first home win of the season.

The striker opened the scoring after 16 minutes, before securing the three points shortly after The Moors were reduced to 10 men late on in the game.

He said: “It’s always good to win, good to win at home and keep a clean sheet as well. It was a tough game in the conditions but our quality showed through in the end. We worked really hard for the result.

“It was good to score, I’ve been working hard all pre-season just to get myself ready and it’s good to get a couple of goals. I got a nice pass from Zain in the first-half and another one from Shep in the second.”

And the 19-year-old doesn’t want the team to rest on their laurels, with Saturday’s game against Macclesfield Town providing Liam McDonald’s side with the opportunity to seal back-to-back wins.

“We’re going to look forward to that game. Another game at home, hopefully have great support again and try and get another three points - we fancy ourselves.”
