Panjab FA host England at the ATG Stadium
George Carline set to make England Debut
PUBLISHED: 18th May 17

On Sunday 28th May,  Panjab host England “C” at the Automated Technology Stadium, Kick Off 3.00 pm. This is the first South Asian National team to play against an England representative team.

Admission for the game is free (see below)

Panjab FA achieved national football team status in 2014 which effectively enabled them to compete on the international football stage for the first time.

Panjab stretches from Panjab in north east of Pakistan, to current Panjab in the north West of India and beyond.

Founder and Chairman Harpreet Singh views the game as a milestone for Panjab FA as it continues to build credibility in the game and for British Asian footballers. Several of their squad members are from the Midlands region such as keeper Ash Malhotra (Stourbridge), defender Jhai Dhillon (Redditch United) and up front Gurjit Singh (Rushall Olympic).

Harpreet is passionate about his team and this game in particular;

 “To make it an admission free game was something that was on my mind from the moment the game was agreed with The FA back in January.   It is more important to me that all people from different backgrounds, the young, the elderly, people who may never have watched a football match previously, come to the game and enjoy this unique fixture, the first of its kind.

I want this to be the start of a prosperous relationship between Panjab FA, The FA and most importantly the people, after all, it is about the people”.

 Panjab are managed by ex Oldham Athletic stalwart Reuben Hazell who commented;

 “Great game to be involved in as a player or a coach. Good test for the boys and should be a momentous occasion for the Panjab team, considering it is still less than three years old and where all this started from”

Included in the England squad for the first time is our very own George Carline who is not surprisingly delighted to represent his country

“It is a nice feeling knowing that my performances have been noticed and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the step up to the National League with Solihull in what has been a great season for the club. It is a great opportunity for me and it will be a special occasion putting on the England shirt”

Free Admission to the match can only be facilitated by down loading a ticket from;
