*Talented youngster 'chuffed' with new deal - by Andy Poole*
PUBLISHED: 2nd Apr 17
Solihull Moors secured the services of another of our rising stars on a new deal recently with Simeon Maye putting pen-to-paper.

The 22-year-old defensive midfielder has signed a contract that keeps him at the club until the end of next season following some impressive displays since joining the club in December.

Im chuffed to bits, he said. When I first arrived I must admit that I wasnt sure how I would cope with the step up in standard at this level.

But it has gone well so far and to know that the Gaffer has backed me with this new deal is a real boost.

I wont be resting on my laurels, though, I need to keep working hard. This is a really physical League and its a learning curve for us every week.

You have to be on your game all of the time or else you will get punished, but I am enjoying the challenge and feel that I am giving a good account of myself.

I feel that I have adapted well and I know that I will continue to improve; its certainly helped having a number of other lads around me who are in the same boat in playing at this level for the first time.

Weve become a tight bunch and were growing and developing together.

This is the fourth season that Maye has worked under Liam McDonald and he has nothing but praise for the Gaffer.

I love working under the Gaffer, the former Birmingham City trainee added. I know exactly what he wants and demands and I will always give everything Ive got for him.
If you work hard and give your all, thats all he asks.

Hes done a fantastic job since taking over here. Its a club that is really going places and has developed so much both on and off-the-field in such a short space of time.

I am delighted to be part of that and hopefully I can help us continue to kick-on and progress.

We want to establish ourselves at this level and then take things from there. Its certainly an exciting future here.
