'Let's stick together'
*Liam McDonald speaks ahead of the visit of Aldershot Town*
PUBLISHED: 31st Mar 17
"Weve hit a bad run of form in the last couple of games and its certainly something that Im looking to address along with my coaching staff.

I think the Forest Green game mentally affected us more than we initially thought then we go and have a bad start against Barrow followed by a disappointing performance against Torquay on Tuesday.

We have to be at our best in this league to even gain a point and weve not been at our best in recent games and that has shown. However, the key is for us all to stick together as a football club. Ive always said that when we win, Im thankful to the support of the fans as they play their part but when we lose, we lose together and we need everybody to stick with us.

As the manager, I have broad enough shoulders to accept  responsibility but its tough, fitness-wise, for a part-time team to go Saturday- Tuesday- Saturday - Tuesday. You add to that the fact that weve lost the likes of Calum Flanagan, Ashley Sammons, Shepherd Murombedzi and Nortei Nortey to injury in recent weeks so we have been down to our bare bones. It will help us now that we dont have any midweek games for the remainder of the season.

This Saturday against Aldershot will be difficult as they are one of the in-form sides in the division at the moment and up around the play-offs but well give it a go and I know the fans will be fully behind us.

From the moment I took this job, there has been no negativity towards the team even when weve had some bad results. To stay in this league, we need to stay positive and I know everybody associated with the football club will continue to do that.

Up The Moors!"
